A number of FOI requests have been made to Network Rail to release specific sets of data or information.

Reference Data

Train Planning rules in XML

An export of Train Planning Rules (TPRs) in XML format from ATTune was released in December 2020. This is an codification of the Train Planning Rules available on Network Rail's website.

List of Service Groups and Service Codes

For performance measurement and billing purposes, each train schedule is allocated an 8-digit Train Service Code (TSC). These are then grouped in to a 4-alphanumeric Service Group.

A redacted copy of service group and TSC data, with a supporting tracking document was released in December 2020.

This data changes periodically, especially when train service patterns are altered.

List of TRAs

A copy of the TOPS D4021 table, containing TOPS Responsibility Areas (TRAs), their STANME (station name) and STAABB (station abbreviation) was released in December 2020.

This data changes infrequently.
