Hey, I'm James. Currently 25 years old and residing near Bristol, South West England, UK, Earth etc.

By day, I'm a computer programmer/technical architect for a utilities company, specialising in Microsoft technologies. In my free time, I volunteer as a guard, shunter, engineer, mechanic, fitter, diesel crewman, IT technician etc. at the Avon Valley Railway.

Always one to combine my hobbies and interests together, the Network Rail data feeds seemed an ideal way to do this. I'm currently working on a variety of bits and pieces to do with the feeds, the most useful one so far being a live diagram of the Bristol signalling area - this is available to view at http://www.uppyjc.co.uk/Map.htm - this isn't yet complete and I'm working on it as and when I can (not having an internet connection at home currently is proving difficult!). It also isn't necessarily running 24/7...
